Iberoarte, the International Handicrafts Fair held from October 12 to 18 in Holguín exhibited unique pieces, author´s items and other singular creations.

Recinto Ferial Expo-Holguín

The Plaza de la Marqueta cultural complex, located in the Historical Old Zone of Holguín and the Expo-Holguín fair compound, exhibited the best of international art pieces available in the Island during this fall.

Iberoarte , a space dedicated to promote artistic expression, traditions and cultural exchange, presented in its 2018 edition goldsmith and doll-work pieces, footwear, textiles and household items, as well as fashion shows, plastic art exhibits, audiovisuals, conferences and workshops.

56 foreign exponents from Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, India, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Canada and Spain came to Iberoarte 2018, plus some 60 nationals from Santiago de Cuba, Las Tunas, Granma, La Habana, Sancti Spíritus, Cienfuegos and of course Holguín.

Dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Cuban Cultural Assets Fund (Fondo Cubano de Bienes Culturales – FCBC) and to the 30th of its local Holguín branch – according to a press note from its Organizing Committee -, since 2002 the International Handicrafts Fair comes to Holguín yearly as part of the Iberoamerican Culture Feast program.

Among distinguished visitors to Iberoarte 2018: His Excellence Mr. Juan Ramón Quintana Taborga, Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in Cuba; His Excellence Mr. Andrei Guskon, Russian Federation Ambassador in Cuba. Also as Cuban distinguished visitors: Sr. Ernesto Santiesteban Velazquez, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Holguín; Sr Julio César Estupiñan Rodríguez, President of the Holguín Provincial People´s Assembly; Gertrudis Bejarano, Vicepresident of the Provincial Assembly; Sr. Arturo Valdés Curbeila, National Director of the FCBC; Sr Dámaso Crespo Entenza, President of the Cuban Association of Artisan Artists (ACAA).
