The Cuban capital is a permanent festival; 500 years of existence deserve big celebrations. Palmares Non-hotel Company joins these festivities with a large program of activities, among them the renovation and embellishment of its facilities, their image, services and infrastructures, aiming to please visitors to the city. This anniversary will be something worthwhile!
La Giraldilla – 222 Street between 34 and Autopista in La Coronela – located in an eclectic style house with a pool and large gardens appropriate for promenading, taking a break and a refreshing drink after a busy day, is one of two projects considered of great impact. According to Palmares executives, the project focuses on approaching the surroundings as a Family Resort where each space embodies new concepts based in an investment plan including a bar and restaurant, a wine cava, stores, slide pools, water gardens and kiddie-park, sun-sheltered areas and F&B offers.
The Círculo Social José Antonio Echevarría – 12 Street between Calzada and Tercera – in el Vedado area is a second project located in a gorgeous, impressive three-level building. Palmares plans to launch a novel and attractive high standards´ product, aiming to rescue the facility through an investment process making the most of its spaces for cultural, sports, recreational and F&B purposes, catering to nationals and foreigners as well. The facility will include a Japanese restaurant, pizzeria, cafeteria, ice-cream parlor, Gastro and Cigar bars, disco, stores, children games room, a multipurpose hall, billiard room, terraces and two large pools with water games, kiddie-park and sports fields.
The rehabilitation process of Finca Guanabito farm, a recreational facility located in natural surroundings perfect for family enjoyment, will also be part of the 500th anniversary of the capital. The project focuses on the rescue of farmers´ traditions – their history, culture, cuisine and recreation – inserted in a natural environment and based on a sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. To that end, the farm will provide food tasting and grill areas with comfortable rustic furniture and a typical peasants´ home located close to crop fields. While the pool surroundings recreate a natural ambiance, other attractions as a ranch-type restaurant specialized in Cuban traditional rural cuisine and a country kiddie-park complement the offer.
Works on popular San Rafael Street include the Vea Cafeteria with a new distribution of spaces and a renovated image to distinguish a typical café. The new Cafesón located in 17 and J streets will play traditional music, also offering dancing classes, an appropriate spot for social venues; its ground floor is to become a café with diverse and tempting offers. The Tavern in 17 and 10 changes its profile to Bar 50, designed to host musical movements and relevant personalities of that decade. In addition, at the entrance of the Almendares River where the Malecón ends, Restaurant 1830 is undergoing a full investment project.
On the other hand, Cabaret Tropicana will celebrate the 80th anniversary of uninterrupted emblematic shows together with the capital´s 500th, while the famous and exclusive Restaurant La Torre, located in the 33rd floor of the Focsa Building – a jewel of Cuban civil engineering – where one can admire the beauty of the city while enjoying Cuban gourmet food prepared by excellent chefs, is also to reopen its doors during this celebration period.
Palmares aims as an every day gift to all, a modern and splendid city in its 500th anniversary.
