Yimer González Alvarez (Havana, 1974) outstood as painter quite soon since its smart graduate thesis of “San Alejandro” National Plastic Arts Academy in 1997, praised in the local press under the avail of prestigious critic and journalist Rolando Pérez Betancourt.

Many examples exhibit Cuba’s will to conserve the artistic heritage treasured in churches and ecclesiastical museum of the Island.

Most harmonious ensemble of the capital: the Cathedral owns fabulous frescos painted by Italian José Perovani, afterwards restored by French Juan Bautista Vermay, wherein supposedly laid to rest the remains of Christopher Columbus brought from the Dominican Republic in 1796, until 1898 when they were taken back to Spain.
